We hope you all had a relaxing and fun filled Spring Break with your child(ren). If you would like to share any of your holiday memories with the Cambridge community in next week’s blog, please send a picture or two with a few details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The final three months of the school year are always busy ones full of learning within the classroom and through various school wide events. Amongst all of the learning, grade 7 students are clearly focused on the successful transition to grade 8, and Cambridge staff are busy planning for the 2018/19 school year.
Communication between parents/guardians and the classroom teacher remains the key to each child’s success. If you have any questions about your child’s achievement based on what you see in their portfolio, please contact your classroom teacher for clarification or to arrange a meeting.
Just a reminder that the much anticipated Running Club begins on Tuesday, April 3rd after school for the month of April. Our students are a hearty bunch and will run through just about any weather, but occasionally Running Club will be cancelled due to “unsportsmanlike conditions” (ex. freezing rain, snow or monsoon like conditions). When this does happen, a message will be sent out through social media (Twitter, Facebook, CambridgeLearns.com, and on our school web site) by 2pm. Thank you in advance to all of the staff & parents/guardians who volunteer their time to support the Running Club.
The Surrey School District has a number of excellent digital resources that are available to families to support learning at home. Below you can find a variety of prompts that will help support meaningful conversations with your child about their learning and two links to various resources available to all Surrey School District students.
Please ensure that you phone the school office at 604-595-4036 and either leave a message (outside of school hours) or talk to our wonderful office staff: Ms. Lacey, Ms. McLean, or Ms. Verrecchia if your child will be absent. This includes if your child is ill, going on vacation or will be absent for any other reason. Even if you have informed the classroom teacher, the office staff need to hear from you as our first priority every morning is to ensure that we know where every Cambridge student is.
Welcome back! Hope you had a wonderful break.
Booster Juice hot lunch is on Monday April 16. Ordering ends Sunday April 8.
Please mark your calendars and join us on Thursday April 12 for our PAC meeting at 6:30pm.
This week Spring Flower order forms will be coming home with your child. This is the second year we will be selling Spring flowers to fundraise for the playground addition.
Thanks, Jaime, Allyson, Taryn and Miriam
