We hope you had an enjoyable Family Day and were able to spend some quality family time together. If you would like to share something fun your family did together for Family Day, please email a picture or two and a short description to firstname.lastname@example.org and it will be included in next week’s CambridgeLearns blog.
At the end of last week, O.W.L. (orphaned wildlife rehabilitation society) visited the kindergarten classrooms to share all sorts of amazing information on different raptors that visit the rehabilitation facility.
Mark your calendar for May 5-6th to attend the O.W.L. Open House.
“OWL’s annual Open House allows you to get a behind the scenes look of one of the busiest raptor rehabilitation centres in Canada. This is the only time that we open up 70% of the facility for the public to get a peek at our medical facility and some of our various rehabilitation enclosures. Come meet our local raptor species and learn about what we do at OWL and check out what else we have going on for the day!”
Grade 6 students teamed up to explore ‘Spheros’ last week. Students worked together and explored how to operate the Sphero, including ways to alternate directions and speed. Students reflected on the learning afterwards and shared challenges, surprises, and wonders. As a group, we wonder if Spheros can help with “real world problems?”. Are their limits to what a Sphero can do? Great questions with a purpose from a creative team of Cambridge kids!
