Cambridge grounds will have a bit of construction going on out back of the school for about a week starting November 22nd. The City of Surrey is installing a new fire hydrant out beside our new portables. Fencing is going up on November 21st and a trench will be dug along the inside of the field from an existing hydrant (see image below). Students are asked to stay away from the construction zone. Our hope is that everything is completed in a week.
Friday, November 24th is school spirit day.

- QUOTE OF THE WEEK
All of last week, Cambridge Leadership students visited classrooms to remind and promote the important clothing drive that was taking place to help a needy school in Surrey. By the end of the week, the generosity of our community was clearly evident as mounds of beautiful clothing (close to 15 packed garbage bags) filled the PAC kitchen. As one of our leadership students collected donations, she commented that, “Cambridge really cares“. Indeed the community does and thankful staff from the school are coming by tomorrow to pick up the donations.
On behalf of our school community, thank you for your efforts to help equip students in need with clothing to keep them warm and dry during the Fall & Winter months.
- McDonalds Hot lunch is Monday November 27. This is by far our largest order so we need all hands on deck to help! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help from 11-12. Parents with younger children are welcome!
Thank you to the parents who attended the PAC meeting this past Thursday. It was a great turnout! The PAC is the Parents Advisory Council and every parent in the school makes up this Council. The initiatives and activities of the PAC are created by the executive and voted on by the parents as a whole. The Executive board made up of 4 elected members President Jamie Glavin, Vice President Allyson Hockin, Treasurer Taryn German and Secretary Miriam Pennington.
Every parent is invited to and welcome at all PAC meetings.
- Poinsettia Order forms went home last week with your child. Please have a look to see if there is anything you are interested in and have your order submitted back to the office or your child’s teacher by Wednesday November 22. This fundraiser is for the PAC’s general account.
Thank you from the Cambridge PAC
