- IMAGES FROM THE WEEK
On Wednesday, April 5th, kids wore blue to honour those students who are affected by Autism. Classrooms shared the videos from last week’s post and held discussions with students to further their awareness.
“Drop Off Buddies” begins again on the morning of Monday, April 10th and will be running Monday through Friday each week. We have a new group of eager grade 4/5 students who will be wearing red hard hats and safety vests waiting to greet your children and walk them to their classroom meeting areas.
What are “Drop Off Buddies”? To help keep traffic moving in the morning, Drop Off Buddies greet parents in the drop off zone as they drive up with their child. Drop Off Buddies politely open your car door and escort your young child to their classroom meeting area so that you do not have to leave your car. This program is primarily for Kindergarten to grade 3 students.
Please remember that NO CARS ARE TO BE LET UNATTENDED IN THE DROP OFF ZONE in front of the school in the morning or after school. It is important that this area is always open for emergency vehicles.
Wednesday, April 12th is early dismissal day. All students will be dismissed at 1:30pm and need to be picked up immediately after dismissal. A letter or email from your classroom teacher was sent out last week indicating that they will contact you if a parent/teacher conference is required. As always, please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about their progress at school.
Kindergarten registration is well underway! If you have not registered your child for September, please visit our office staff as soon as you can. Feel free to share this information with your friends that may have Kindergarten aged children starting school in September.
Moving homes or schools? If so, please let our office staff know so that we can update your contact information. If you are planning to enrol your child in a different school for September, please let the office know as soon as possible. We have a process that needs to be followed to ensure that your child has a smooth transition into their new school.
Just a reminder that all public schools are closed Friday, April 14th for Good Friday and Monday, April 17th for Easter Monday.
Please join us at the Spring Fling Dance on Thursday April 13 from 6-8pm. This dance is for all of our Cambridge families and a parent must stay at the school with your child. Please bring a canned food item for the Surrey Food Bank.
There will be a photo booth ($2), concessions for purchase (pop, water, chips, candy bags and ring pops) as well as pre-ordered Dominoes Pizza.
Please order your pizza to enjoy at the dance by ordering at cambridgepac.hotlunches.net by Sunday April 9.
• Next PAC meeting is Tuesday April 18 at 6:30 in the Learning Lab. Child minding is available.
• The next PAC lunch is Booster Juice on Friday April 21. Please order by Thursday April 13. Info sheet went home with your child.
We hope to see you there!
Thank you for your support, your PAC executive.
