CLASS PLACEMENT REQUESTS FOR 2016-17
Shortly, we will begin the VERY TENTATIVE process of organizing classes for the 2016-17 school year. If you would like to share information regarding your child that will assist us in making the most appropriate class placement for next year, please put this in writing and submit your letter to Mr. Vendramin by May 20. Requests may include a description of a preferred learning environment or details about your child’s academic, social, or emotional strengths and/or needs. It would not be appropriate to request a particular teacher by name.

Parent requests will be one part of our decision-making process as we work collaboratively to create the best possible learning environments for all students.

TRACK AND FIELD
Contributed by Tracey Steeves

Track and Field season is just around the corner! If your child is in grade 3-7 and they are interested in track and field disciplines such as short and long distance running, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, and shot put, then they are encouraged to participate. Because of the dedication of so many Cambridge staff members, we are fortunate to be able to offer all these events to students. Thank you teachers!!!

A meeting will be held this Wednesday for all students interested in participating in track and field and permission forms will be handed out outlining practice days and times. Practices begin the week of April 11th and will continue into May.

During the month of May our school is hoping to attend a few mini track meets. Mini meets involve a few schools with select events. After the mini meets, practices will continue only for those students who can achieve District Standards in the events they have been attending regularly.

Near the end of May, students will be selected to participate in the District Track Meet at Bear Creek Park on Wednesday, June 8th. If your child is selected for the meet, a separate permission form will be given to them later in May.

Please check the CambridgeLearns blog weekly for updated schedules. We look forward to a fun Track and Field season!

Dear Parents,

This list of events changes weekly so please check back often. Some parents have expressed concern over the fact they don’t see any field trips listed for their child. Please don’t worry.
