SPORTS DAY – FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2015
Friday, June 12th will be Sports Day at Cambridge Elementary. Each student has been assigned a Sports Day Team Colour. If you are unsure of your child’s colour, please contact your child’s teacher. The theme for this year’s Sports Day is Sports All-Stars.
Students should dress in as much of their house colours as possible, and should dress appropriately for the weather and activities. They are encouraged to wear sports-themed clothing (team jersey, shorts, socks, hats). Students should wear running shoes, hats, and have sunscreen on. All students should have a water bottle labeled with their name.
If it is raining on June 12th, the rain out day will be on Monday, June 15th.
IF YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ATTENDING SPORTS DAY, PLEASE LET THE OFFICE OR YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER KNOW, THIS WILL HELP WITH PLACING CHILDREN IN THEIR TEAMS.
Sports Day Schedule
8:33- Students to class for attendance and nametags (Kindergarten to Grade 7)
9:05– Classes to gym for team spirit building.
9:35-Students are led out to their starting stations, beginning with our primary group who follow their sign out to the stations.
9:45-10:30– Students in K-4 will rotate through the stations on the far (West) side of the field. Feel free to follow your child through the station rotations. Please do not take your child anywhere without informing the supervising teacher. Thank you.
Students in Grades 5-7 will rotate through their activities on the grass & gravel fields, the sport courts and the gym.
10:30-10:45– All students will break at the same time at the station they are presently competing at. (Freezies will be given to the students at this time)
12:55-Students return to class for afternoon attendance
1:00-Classes proceed to meeting place for afternoon activities. Students will sit in their House Teams.
1:00-Grade Group Sprints/Tug Of War/Parachute/Grounds Clean up
2:00-Students return to their class for ribbon distribution.
Our PAC also needs volunteers for the following:
- 3 volunteers from 10am-12pm at the concession
- 3 volunteers from 12pm-2pm at the concession
- 10 volunteers around 11:15 for hot lunch distribution
- 3 volunteers to help cut the freezies in half
