COMMUNICATING STUDENT LEARNING
Term 1 is quickly coming to a close. This week, Student Learning Communications (report cards) will be shared with you and two early dismissal days, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16 and 17 are planned so that you and your child’s teacher can meet to discuss your child’s learning.
We’ve been talking a great deal about how we communicate student learning and how this communication is beginning to change. Many teachers have been sharing information about student learning throughout the term using a tool called FreshGrade. In doing this, our long-term goal is to provide ongoing feedback to parents so that formal report cards will eventually no longer be necessary. We know that if you have access to current information regarding what your child can do as well as areas in which there might be struggles, it is much easier to support their learning.
We appreciate how progressive and forward-thinking you, as parents and partners in learning, have been. In fact, did you know that a large number of parents have received ongoing updates throughout the term, have access to their child’s online learning portfolio, and have accessed their child’s Term 1 report card online rather than in paper? Thank you for your support as Cambridge continues to progressively lead the way in how we assess student learning and communicate this to parents.
Parents, we appreciate you taking a few moments to provide feedback regarding your experiences. We realize that some of the questions in the survey below may be difficult to answer until after you have received reports on Monday, so please do return to this page when you are ready to share your views.
Thank you!

Is there really a sing along on the 17 at 1:45 if there is 1:30 dismissal and the book fair that day? Or was that a misprint?
That was actually an error. There is a sing along on the 17th but it’s at 12:45 pm. My apologies 🙂
