FRESHGRADE – Parent Feedback Requested
Dear Parents,
By this time, many of you should now be receiving ongoing updates regarding your child’s learning via a new tool called “FreshGrade” being used by teachers. Updates take the form of notes, images, video, and audio, and are sent to parents via email. Some teachers are using FreshGrade regularly while others are still receiving training, learning, and becoming more comfortable with the tool.
We want YOUR FEEDBACK regarding the difference receiving ongoing information about your child’s learning is making. Please use the link above to leave your comment. Thank you!
Did you also know that there is an APP that allows you to access your child’s learning portfolio and reports online?
You can access the ANDROID version HERE.
You can access the iPHONE/iPAD version HERE.
READY, SET, ACTION. “THOUGHTFULNESS” VIDEO CONTEST
At Cambridge, we use the “STAR” acronym to remind us about expected behaviour at school: SAFE, THOUGHTFUL, ACCOUNTABLE, RESPECTFUL.
This year, we plan to reinforce the concept of STAR behaviour through ongoing classroom conversations as well as presentations during assemblies. During our recent October 30 assembly, the following video was shown to illustrate the many ways students and teachers can be safe at school:
As with all media we include in CambridgeLearns, we avoid identifying students by name and do our best to check for parent consent regarding the publication of images. If your child is included in ANY way in CambridgeLearns that you have not consented, please let us know immediately and the content will be removed.
NOW FOR THE CHALLENGE TO STUDENTS!
Students are invited to produce their very own 60-second video. Our next theme will be THOUGHTFULNESS. Students can work on their own, in pairs, or with a small group. Videos will be assessed based on creativity and how well they convey the idea of THOUGHTFULNESS. The most effective videos will be shown at the next assembly and published on CambridgeLearns. ALL participants will have their name entered into a draw for some very cool prizes. HAVE FUN!

Haven’t heard a thing about FreshGrade…like the idea though.
Teachers are rolling out on an individual basis when they are ready. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have. We are also planning a parent evening soon. Stay tuned!
